About this website

The two-year SNSF pilot project “Fagottini and tenoroons – small forgotten giants”  and the current three-year SNSF project “Out of the bass register” is being carried out by a team of researchers at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, FHNW (University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland) to explore organological and musicological aspects of smaller bassoons from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries and covers a comprehensive scope of research.

Another project, “Neue alte Klangkörper – 3D Fagottini”, recently explored a multi-method approach to reconstructing two original eighteenth-century fagottini with 3D-CT modelling.
