About this website

Two SNSF research projects, “Fagottini and tenoroons – small forgotten giants” and “Out of the bass register” were carried out by a team of researchers at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, FHNW (University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland). They explored organological and musicological aspects of smaller bassoons from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.

Another project, “Neue alte Klangkörper – 3D Fagottini”, additionally explored a multi-method approach to reconstructing two original eighteenth-century fagottini with 3D-CT modelling.
